A guide to your claim

Appointed by your insurer
If INSUREPAIR® has been appointed in connection with your insurance claim, our role is to assess the damage, establish the repair requirements and manage the reinstatement process through to completion.
- Inspect and document the damage to your property
- Establish the likely cause and extent of damage
- Prepare a detailed scope of reinstatement works
- Provide supporting information for insurer or loss adjuster review
- Coordinate and carry out the approved repairs

Survey
If we are instructed to assess and validate damage on behalf of your insurer, one of our surveyors will visit your property at a pre-arranged time to inspect the affected areas, record the damage and gather the information required for review.
Following the inspection, the outcome may be recorded as:
- Accepted: the damage is considered to fall within the agreed terms of the claim and repair works can progress, subject to any applicable policy excess
- Not accepted: the damage is considered to fall outside the terms of the policy or claim
- Partially accepted: only part of the damage is considered to be covered and the insurer may authorise repairs to the accepted areas
- Referred: further information or insurer review is required before a decision can be confirmed
Where required, INSUREPAIR® will provide the insurer or loss adjuster with supporting photographs, survey information and a detailed reinstatement scope.

Scope of
work
The Insurepair surveyor will agree on a scope of works with you on-site. You will be asked to authorise and sign this agreed scope of works and a copy will be left with you. At this stage you can pay your excess (if applicable) to the surveyor, alternatively, a request for payment will be sent to you. If there is any aspect of the scope that you do not understand, please contact us and our staff will be happy to help.

Materials
Where replacement finishes are required, we will work with you to agree suitable materials that are consistent with the approved reinstatement scope.
This may include items such as flooring, tiles, sanitaryware, decoration and other finishes.
If you choose an upgraded or more expensive alternative, any additional cost may need to be paid directly by you before the relevant works commence.
Where we require you to select colours, finishes or materials, we ask that choices are provided as early as possible to avoid delays to ordering and the repair programme.
In some cases, an exact match may no longer be available. Where this happens, INSUREPAIR® will discuss suitable alternatives with you and, where required, refer the matter to your insurer or loss adjuster for review.

Carrying out
your repair
Once the reinstatement works have been authorised and any applicable policy excess or customer contribution has been received, our operations team will contact you to agree a suitable start date and coordinate the repair programme.
INSUREPAIR® will manage the sequencing of trades and works throughout the reinstatement, keeping you informed of any material changes to the programme.
Before works begin, we ask that loose and personal belongings are removed from the affected areas wherever possible. Our team will take reasonable care to protect fixtures, furnishings and items that cannot be removed.
If you require additional assistance because of age, disability or accessibility needs, please let us know in advance so that suitable arrangements can be considered before the works commence.

care
